Al-Hilal have unveiled Darwin Nunez as their new player after completing his transfer from Premier League champions, Liverpool. Softfootball had been revealing all the details behind Nunez’s deal to Al-Hilal.
Nunez became an outcast in Liverpool when he could not impress coach, Arne Slot as the Reds won the Premier League last season. The Uruguayan had been in the news all summer as a move was always imminent for him.
At some point, he was left out Liverpoool’s squad for a preseason game against AC Milan. Nunez and Diaz were the two players who was not in the squad. Diaz has since joined Bayern Munich in a deal worth more than $80m.

Al- Hilal secured a deal worth 53m euros (£46.3m) for the 26-year-old striker who had scored 40 goals in over a hundred appearances for Liverpool. He however only started 8 matches last season.
Nunez’s departure could open way for Liverpool to approach Newcastle again for Alexander Isak. The PL champions had been looking for a new winger to help add more options on the flanks but now has to buy a striker as new buy, Hugo Ekitike is the only option available as a number 9. Newcastle had rejected Liverpool’s £110m offer.
In a statement shared on Liverpool’s official website regarding Núñez’s exit, the club said
“Everybody at the club would like to thank Darwin for his contributions and wish him and his family all the best for the future.
“Nunez’s pair of stoppage-time finishes to snatch victory away at Brentford in January was an undoubted vital moment and highlight of the historic season.”
Al-Hilal unveiled the striker, who has joined the Al-Hilal squad on their pre-season training camp in Germany with a well special video posted on their official verified X handle.
