Leeds United Coach, Daniel Farke has expressed his disappointment following his side’s 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa, Softfootball reports.
New signing Lukas Nmecha gave the Whites an early lead but the visitors turned it around in the second half with two goals from Morgan Rogers, who recently penned a contract extension at Aston Villa.

Although, Farke was happy with the performance of his players, he was definitely not happy with the final result. Leeds United’s official X handle shared his interview after the match. He said:
First of all, we are disappointed we didn’t win because we know we have a tough run of fixtures right now upcoming against the best sides. But we wanted to play in this league and for that we also have to make sure that we give ourselves a chance to win points even against the best sides in this league. These are our competitors and for that when we lose a game we are disappointed no matter how the performance was. I wasn’t really happy in the last away games but performance-wise, I don’t have too much to complain about today because this was how we want to be – brave, aggressive, with confidence.

He highlighted the save by Aston Villa’s goalkeeper, Emiliano Martínez as the World Cup winner with Argentina denied Pascal Struijk from scoring in the game. He added:
I think to concede these two goals was decisive today. We put a fight in, [Emi] Martínez, another unbelievable save against Pascal Struijk, another goal disallowed. So, performance-wise, we would have deserved to win points out of this today but we had it already a few times during the season. We were pretty unfortunate in these terms.

Unai Emery is happy with Aston Villa’s consistency following back-to-back wins, something Daniel Farke certainly wants from his players in their first season back in the premier league.
The win takes Aston Villa to fourth on the premier league table with 21 points while Leeds United sit 18th with 11 points after 12 matches so far this season.
