D Real Kombo  has reacted to Ghana’s narrow defeat to Germany with the kind of fiery honesty and humour fans have come to expect, and his review has quickly struck a chord with football lovers across Africa.

Speaking on his YouTube channel after the game, he made it clear that even though Germany got the win, they did not exactly leave people convinced ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Germany beat Ghana 2-1 thanks to a late winner from Deniz Undav after goals from Kai Havertz and Ghana’s equaliser from Abdul Fatawu in a much tighter contest than many expected.

Reacting to the performance, D Real Kombo  said:

“There’s a reason why, when we are talking about the teams that are going to win the World Cup, there’s a reason why a lot of us don’t mention Germany. There’s a reason why we don’t mention them… Oh, Germany, you disappointed me. Yes, you won the game, but you disappointed me. This was not the result we were expecting. This was not the scoreline we were expecting.”

He then turned his attention to Ghana’s display, admitting that while many expected the Black Stars to lose, they still managed to earn respect with how they competed. He added:

“Ghana can’t feel like, say, if they go World Cup, you get one thing they can go do… They’re going to feel like, say, oh, if we can make Germany struggle against us, that means we can get something against Croatia or England.”

What made the rant more interesting was that he did not just mock Ghana he actually gave them genuine credit by the end. In his words:

“At the end of the day, it was a decent game, right? Well done to Ghana. They played well. They played very, very well, right? Surprisingly very, very well. They gave Germany a run for their money… A draw would have been a perfect result for this game based on how Ghana played well in this game. So well done to them.”

Softfootball reported That final assessment probably sums up the game best: Germany got the result, but Ghana walked away with more belief than shame.

That belief will matter because Ghana’s recent run has been mixed. They also fell 1-0 to South Korea in their final friendly before the World Cup draw, another result that raised questions about their cutting edge.

Germany, meanwhile, had already shown their firepower by thrashing Slovakia 6-0 to confirm their 19th straight World Cup qualification, which is why some fans expected them to blow Ghana away too. Instead, this became one of those matches that says more than the scoreline. Germany won, but Ghana may have gained something just as valuable  confidence.
