Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr are in advanced talks to sign João Félix and hijack Benfica’s move

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr are in advanced talks to sign João Félix from Chelsea ahead of Benfica according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Saudi Pro league team are reportedly keen on signing the Portugal international on a permanent deal with final details expected to be discusses in the next few days.

It looks like Saudi are coming to rescue Chelsea again with the Blues having sold a lot of their players to clubs over there in recent seasons. The Blues placed a €54 million (£46m/$62m) valuation on Felix exactly what they paid Atletico Madrid last year.

According to Romano, he shared on his X handle that Al Nassr have submitted a permanent transfer proposal to Chelsea and a contract offer to João Félix himself. The deal is reportedly close to completion, with only final details left to be discussed over the next 24 to 48 hours.

The tweet reads:

“Al Nassr are in advanced talks to sign João Félix and hijack Benfica’s move!

“Understand Al Nassr have sent permanent deal proposal to Chelsea and contract proposal to João.

“The agreement is close as final details are set to be discussed in the next 24/48h”.

Félix, who joined Chelsea on from Atlético Madrid in 2023, had been linked with a return to his boyhood club Benfica. However,  Al Nassr’s aggressive pursuit backed by significant financial backing has placed them firmly in pole position.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to receive over £40m for Felix, which is around what they paid to sign him. If the deal goes through, then Chelsea must be applauded for managing to get their fee back for the 25-year-old after a poor loan last season and him not being in good form at all in recent years.

Should the deal materialize, Félix would join the growing list of European stars moving to the Saudi league, adding further attacking firepower to Al Nassr’s squad, which already includes the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mané.
