Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-German team have continued to write their own history as they staged a comeback against English side Tottenham Hotspurs in the UEFA Super Cup match played in Udine, Italy. PSG were 2-0 down as at the 84th minutes and were clueless till an inspiration came.
Softfootball had watched as the Parisians staged comeback in the 85th minute with a left footed strike 22 yards out from Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos’s last minute header to drag the game into penalties.
Both goal scorers were substitute on the night which shows Luis Enrique’s good read of the game to turn it around.

Enrique’s team had suffered a devastating loss in the hands of another Premier League side, Chelsea in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. PSG had fallen 3-0 to Chelsea in New York.
In Italy, the story was almost the same until the Lee’s goal inspired the fight back. Enrique who watched on as his team were almost out ran at some stage of the game and also witnessed how his players fought back to win the cup was uncontrollable after the game.
The Spanish coach who had won the UEFA Super Cup before while at Barcelona described the Spurs win as a “miracle.” He spoke to PSG’s media via the club official website after the game.
He mitigated that:
“How crazy! That’s the word, crazy… I have to say I’m very happy. I don’t think we deserved to win, because the difference between a team like Tottenham, who have had a lot of training, and us, who have only had five training sessions… It’s so different, I think it’s a miracle.
“I’m happy because today, as usual, we saw our fans supporting the team throughout the match, even when we were losing 1-0 and then 2-0.
“In the end, even though I don’t think we deserved it, I have to say I’m happy for all the players and especially for the fans. It’s important to win this trophy, even though we would have preferred to rest and think about next season.
“It’s difficult to play in a Super Cup final because you have to win the Champions League or the Europa League. It was strange to have such short holidays, but once again I have to say that I’m happy with my players. We’re happy, we’re champions!”
PSG have now won two European trophies in a space of three months having not one either of the Champions League or the Super Cup before now.
