Chuba Akpom is reportedly nearing a move away from Ajax, with French Ligue 1 side Lille emerging as his likely destination.
The Nigerian-born striker is expected to join Lille on loan for the remainder of the season, with the French club also having the option to make the transfer permanent.
Softfootball reports that Lille have reached an agreement with Ajax over the proposed move, according to information from Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

The deal could reportedly become permanent in the summer for a fee of €12.5 million, while Lille are also expected to cover Akpom’s full salary during the loan spell.
The move would give the 29-year-old an opportunity to secure more regular football after struggling for playing time in Amsterdam.
Akpom has found it difficult to establish himself in the Ajax attack due to competition from Brian Brobbey and Wout Weghorst.
A move to Lille could provide Akpom with the chance to play more regularly and revive his career in one of Europe’s major leagues.
