Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier has praised Chuba Akpom for his versatility and immediate impact since joining the club in January.

The former Ajax striker has scored two goals in two Ligue 1 matches, quickly establishing himself as a valuable asset for the French side. Softfootball reports that Chevalier views him as a unique tactical option.

Chevalier highlighted that Akpom offers a different profile compared to other forwards, with the ability to play centrally or on the wing.

He emphasized the striker’s speed and dribbling ability, which adds a new dimension to Lille’s attack and provides an alternative for long balls that the squad previously lacked.

He explained the benefit by stating:

He can even play on the wing. He’s faster, more into dribbling, and into percussion. He has a certain power. He’s an alternative on long balls, something we didn’t have in our squad. We really feel an added value.
