Chelsea Goal of the Month: Palmer, George and Caicedo nominated

Chelsea have released the nominations for the Goal of the Month for September award, Softfootball reports.

The Blues bounced back from two consecutive premier league defeats against Manchester United and Brighton to beat Liverpool in their first game in October but the month in focus is September and Chelsea players got some good goals.

Chelsea’s official X handle shared a post on the nominated players and their goals. Watch below.

Cole Palmer started with a beautiful goal against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League. Although the Blues lost 3-1 at the Allianz Arena, the goal made it to the nomination.

19-year-old Tyrique George was also nominated with his effort in the Carabao Cup to help Chelsea avoid upset at League One Lincoln City.

Finally, Moisés Caicedo scored an absolute belter against Brentford in September and it’s a deserved contender.

Meanwhile at Liverpool defensive midfielder, Wataru Endo has withdrawn from the Japan squad for their fixtures during the October international break.

The Reds number 3 was a second half substitute on Saturday when Liverpool lost 2-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as they dropped to second on the premier league log with Arsenal overtaking them due to their win over West Ham United at the Emirates.

Liverpool confirmed on their official X handle in a statement that read:

Wataru Endo has withdrawn from the Japan squad for their fixtures during the October international window.

Endo was picked by Japan to participate in the Kirin Challenge Cup against Paraguay and Brazil but has now officially pulled out after his injury which was also confirmed by the Japan FA announced on Monday.

Endo has struggled for form this season at Liverpool, He was bought by former Reds manager Jurgen Klopp and enjoyed a series of games under the German manager but with Arne Slot has has barely started a match this season.

Endo will hope to get more regular playing time after the international break.
