Carlos Queiroz has left his role as head coach of Ghana’s senior men’s national team following an agreement with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The Ghana Football Association had officially announced the appointment of the Portuguese tactician on April 13, 2026, with expectations high as he took charge of the Black Stars.
However, Queiroz’s time in charge has come to an end after just seven matches, with both parties deciding to part ways following a difficult run of results.
During his spell as Ghana head coach, Queiroz recorded:
- 7 matches
- 1 win
- 2 draws
- 4 losses
- 5 goals scored
- 10 goals conceded
- Goal difference: -5
His seven-game tenure yielded just one victory, with the Black Stars struggling to find consistency under his leadership.
The decision brings an early end to Queiroz’s time with Ghana, as the national team now turns its attention to rebuilding and preparing for upcoming international assignments.
The Ghana Football Association will now begin the process of identifying the next coach to lead the Black Stars forward following the departure of the experienced Portuguese manager.
