Carlo Ancelotti is enjoying life in Brazil and is now set to commit his long-term future to the national team. Softfootball can confirm that the Italian coach will sign a new four-year extension that will keep him in charge of the Seleção through the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
Ancelotti personally confirmed the development, stating:
I believe I will renew my contract with Brazil for four years. It’s a new job… and I’m really impressed by it,” in comments to Movistar.
The update has also been confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle.
Romano stated:
Carlo Ancelotti confirms he’s set to sign new deal at Brazil: “I believe I will renew my contract with Brazil for four years”. “It’s a new job… and I’m really impressed by it”, Ancelotti has told Movistar.

The former AC Milan, Juventus F.C., Chelsea F.C., FC Bayern Munich, Real Madrid CF and Paris Saint-Germain F.C. boss took on his first international role when he was appointed head coach of Brazil national football team in May 2025.
His appointment marked a historic shift, as one of Europe’s most decorated club managers stepped into the international arena for the first time at the age of 66.
Since taking charge, Ancelotti has overseen two victories, one draw and one defeat, beginning to lay the foundations for Brazil’s 2026 World Cup campaign in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Despite the early stage of his tenure, the veteran tactician is already planning long-term, with a clear focus on stability and sustained competitiveness at the highest level.

Ancelotti’s commitment to Brazil also ends speculation linking him with a potential return to Italy’s national setup. The Italy national football team have struggled in recent years, missing the last two World Cups, prompting calls from some quarters for Ancelotti to eventually take charge of his homeland.
However, the Italian appears fully invested in building a new era with the Seleção.
Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund have officially completed the signing of Kauã Prates, with the Brazilian left-back agreeing a contract until June 2031.
