Calvin Bassey has withdrawn from the Nigeria national football team squad ahead of the upcoming friendlies against Iran national football team and Jordan national football team due to a back injury, Softfootball reports.

Bassey, who also plays for Fulham, now joins Victor Osimhen on the list of players unavailable for the fixtures. Osimhen had earlier been ruled out after sustaining a shoulder injury during Galatasaray’s 4–0 loss to Liverpool in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg.
The absence of key players presents a challenge for the Super Eagles as they continue preparations for the March international break.
