Antonio Cordero has joined Cádiz on loan from Premier League side, Newcastle United after his Westerlo contract was interrupted, Softfootball reports.
Newcastle United lost 1-0 to Manchester United on Boxing Day and are struggling with injuries in the squad but do not see a need to recall but Cordero from his loan to help the squad because Anthony Gordon, Anthony Elanga and Harvey Barnes are still available.

According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, the winger is heading out on a second loan spell this season to Spain. He informed:
EXCL: Cádiz agree loan deal to sign Antonio Cordero from Newcastle as Westerlo loan deal has been interrupted. Cádiz win race to sign talented winger, as #NUFC sources confirm.
Newcastle had defeated Everton 4-1 before Christmas and despite their injury woes are carrying on in style. Again, Cordero was considered inexperienced for the premier league and they wanted him to stay out on loan to gain first team experience.

Cordero joined Newcastle United in July 2025 and immediately loaned to KVC Westerlo for the 2025-2026 season for development. He plays primarily a right-footed left winger known for his technical ability, dribbling skills, and goal instinct. He also represented Spain at the U18 and U19 levels.
