Super Eagles duo Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella were both in action as Bayer Leverkusen were held to a 1-1 draw by Bochum in Saturday’s Bundesliga encounter.
Softfootball understands that the result extended Leverkusen’s winless streak to three matches in all competitions, with the defending Bundesliga champions managing two draws and one defeat during that run.
Nathan Tella was introduced in the 64th minute as Xabi Alonso searched for fresh attacking options, while Boniface came off the bench with 13 minutes remaining.

Leverkusen looked on course for victory after Patrik Schick gave them the lead in the 18th minute, but Bochum snatched a late equaliser through Koji Miyoshi in the 89th minute.
Boniface has now featured in nine Bundesliga matches this season, scoring six goals, while Tella made his sixth league appearance and is still searching for his first goal of the campaign.
The draw leaves Leverkusen in fourth place on 17 points, nine points adrift of league leaders Bayern Munich.
Bayern maintained their position at the top of the table with a hard-fought 1-0 away victory over St. Pauli, courtesy of Jamal Musiala’s first-half strike.
