Softfootball understands that Emmanuel Agbadou’s time at Wolverhampton Wanderers is over, and now the defender is heading to Turkey. The 28-year-old has completed a permanent transfer to Beşiktaş, with the move confirmed today by Wolves via their official X account.
They posted:
Emmanuel Agbadou has completed a permanent move to Besiktas. Thank you and best of luck, Emmanuel
It feels quick when you look back at it, because his stay at Molineux only lasted about 13 months, but there was still enough packed into that spell to leave a small mark.

Agbadou made 35 appearances for Wolves in total, and for a while, he looked like one of the smarter signings the club had made. After arriving from Stade Reims in January 2025 for around £16.6 million, he slotted straight into the back line and barely missed a match.
He started almost every Premier League game during that survival push, and he got the job done. He even grabbed a goal in a win over Crystal Palace.

This season, though, things were a bit different. He played 17 times before heading off for Africa Cup of Nations duty with the Ivory Coast, who eventually lost 3-2 to Egypt in the quarter-final, and his final match for Wolves ended in a flat 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth.
From a business side, Wolves, who recently lost 2-0 to Manchester City, would not complain. The fee is reported at £17.5 million, rising to around €20 million with add-ons, so they actually make a small profit.

Beşiktaş see him as an important piece for their defence and handed him a four-and-a-half-year deal after medicals were completed. His salary is said to be about €3 million net per year, slightly higher than what he earned in England.
New country, new league, fresh start. Sometimes that’s all a player really needs, even if the last chapter ended a little early.
