Softfootball can confirm that Bernardo Silva will not return to SL Benfica this summer, despite recent media reports suggesting a possible move.
Speaking to Canal 11, Bernardo Silva said:
“I’d love to return but in another moment… I don’t know if Benfica will still want me by then”
However, the Manchester City midfielder maintained that his priority is to decide his next club before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He added that he wants to arrive at the tournament with his future fully settled, allowing him to focus completely on representing Portugal at the highest level.
