Saudi Pro League side Neom SC has made their first move for Inter Milan’s Benjamin Pavard, opening talks with the French defender, but it seems their initial wage offer wasn’t enough to sway him.
Softfootball reports that Neom SC remains keen on the 29-year-old, but the final say rests with Pavard himself. The defender is under contract with Inter until 2028, yet is thought to be open to a move this summer. The transfer window is still open, leaving plenty of time for a twist in this developing story.

Football journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed the approach on his official X account, writing:
“Saudi side Neom SC approached Benjamin Pavard to open talks for French defender. Talks also expected with Inter but deal depends on Pavard’s decision whether to move to Saudi or not.”
While Neom SC’s interest is clear, they are far from the only club in the race. Lille and Galatasaray have also been linked, along with several Premier League sides eager to bolster their backlines before the season kicks off.
Lille’s pursuit is particularly intriguing. Pavard began his career there, and a return to familiar surroundings could be tempting especially if their sporting project and ambitions align with his own. Galatasaray, meanwhile, has been active in the market. They recently allowed Morata to leave the club to Italian side Como, and may see Pavard as a statement signing.

Inter signed Pavard from Bayern Munich just two years ago. His impact was immediate, but last season his form dipped, and with his 30th birthday approaching, there’s a growing sense inside the club that this could be the right time to cash in.
For now, Pavard has options on the table, from Saudi riches to a homecoming in France or even a Premier League challenge. The decision will come down to what he values most at this stage of his career: a lucrative payday, a return to familiar ground, or a new adventure entirely.
