Chelsea have enjoyed an impressive start to the season, climbing to fourth in the Premier League with 18 points from 10 matches after finishing sixth in the previous campaign.

However, Fernandez has found game time difficult to come by in recent weeks, with Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia emerging as Maresca’s preferred midfield partnership.

The 23-year-old was left on the bench during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford, making it his third consecutive Premier League appearance as a substitute.

According to reports from The Sun via msn.com, Barcelona and Inter Milan are closely monitoring the situation and could consider making a move if Fernandez’s lack of regular football continues.

Both European giants are believed to admire the World Cup winner’s technical ability, vision and midfield quality as they look to strengthen their squads.

Despite the growing speculation, Fernandez is reportedly determined to fight for his place at Chelsea and regain a spot in Maresca’s starting lineup. However, the midfielder is also said to be unwilling to spend an extended period on the sidelines if his situation fails to improve.
