Congratulations to Barcelona as they move closer to winning LaLiga, showing consistency, hard work, and determination throughout the season.

The 2–1 win over Atletico Madrid was not an easy one. Robert Lewandowski came through with the winning goal in the 87th minute.

Softfootball initially thought Barcelona would blow Atletico Madrid away, especially after Nicolás González received a red card in the 45+7 minute, and Marcus Rashford equalised. It seemed like Barcelona could have pushed further and buried the game.

Atletico Madrid held things together for most of the match, but it was a strong performance from Rashford, who has proven to be a key figure in the team alongside Raphinha and Lamine Yamal. Rashford’s importance continues to grow, and Lewandowski’s late goal sealed the victory.

Looking at the 2025/26 LaLiga standings, Barcelona are now seven points ahead of Real Madrid. This gives them a cushion to lose two games and still remain top by one point. With eight games to go, all Barcelona need is to win five matches and possibly secure a couple of draws to confirm the LaLiga title.
