Softfootball can report that Barcelona president Joan Laporta has outlined his optimism for the season ahead, backing Hansi Flick’s side to challenge for silverware across all competitions.
Speaking to the club’s media, Laporta said the target was clear for the Catalonians who are seeking to defend their La Liga title next season.

He told the Barca media this:
“What we hope for this season is success on the field. We will compete, and I am convinced that with all our strength, in every competition we play, we are candidates to win.”
Meanwhile, the president emphasised his commitment to restoring joy among the Barça fanbase, praising the unity and talent within the current squad.
“We hope the fans enjoy themselves with Flick’s team. When I returned, I promised to bring back the joy of being a Barça supporter. This season, I see a united, solid group with very talented players, and I believe we will experience unforgettable moments.”
Laporta also reflected on the atmosphere at the recent Joan Gamper Trophy, which saw Barcelona face Sergi Roberto’s Como side, where Lamine Yamal scored a brace for the Catalonians.
The event, hosted at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, celebrated the club’s heritage, with tributes to founder Joan Gamper and appearances from former players such as Cesc Fàbregas.
Laporta added:
“There was a great atmosphere at the Gamper festa,” Laporta noted. “It was special to bring together our founder’s figure, the Johan Cruyff Stadium, Cesc, Sergi Roberto’s Como, and Hansi Flick’s team. I enjoyed seeing the fans applaud Sergi when he was substituted.”
About the return to the Nou Camp, Laporta said the team is excited to bring memorable experiences this new season.
“The stadium is progressing; it’s beautiful, each time you see it moving along. Now we have two tiers, and the third is being built.
We are working on the access points with the requisites laid down by the City Council, with whom we are working together. That’s very important because, at the end of the day it is the Council who approves the licence for the first occupation.”
Barcelona will be playing its first La Liga game of the season against Real Mallorca next Sunday.
