Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice believes the Gunners could have scored as many as 10 goals in their 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in Wednesday’s north London derby.
The England international made the statement after Arsenal dominated proceedings at the Emirates Stadium, reports Softfootball, with Leandro Trossard scoring the decisive goal.
Tottenham captain Son Heung-min had given the visitors an early lead against the run of play, but Dominic Solanke’s own goal restored parity before Trossard completed Arsenal’s comeback shortly before half-time.
Rice was impressed by his team’s performance and felt they could have added more goals if they had been more clinical in front of goal.
Arsenal created several opportunities after the break, with Rice, Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard and Trossard all coming close to extending the lead. Spurs also hit the woodwork through Pedro Porro in stoppage time.
The victory moved Arsenal to within four points of Premier League leaders Liverpool, who still have a game in hand.
