Arsenal have register their interest in the highly-rated French centre-back Jeremy Jacquet. The 20-year-old sensation who recently penned a long-term contract with the Ligue 1 side, Rennes until June 2029 has caught the Gunners’ attention with his outsatnding performances.
Gunners have completed the signings of Viktor Gyokeres, defender Cristhian Mosquera, midfielders Christian Norgaard and Martin Zubimendi as well as forwards Noni Madueke and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Undeterred by Jacquet’s fresh commitment to Rennes, Mikel Arteta’s side are closely tracking the youngster’s situation in bid to lure him to the Emirates as Arsenal aim to beef up their squad for a Premier League title push next season.
Jacquet is viewed as a promising talent for the future and is reportedly among the options Arsenal are considering, either as a contingency in case of defensive departures this month or as a potential signing for 2026.
Softfootball reports that Jeremy Jacquet featured in 29 matches, contributing 2 goals and 2 assists last season, the 20-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough into the senior side over the past season, featuring heavily at the back end of the campaign.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, Arsenal have already made initial contact to sign the 20-year-old defender from the French club, and he’s on their list as option in case of exits this month or eventually for 2026.
