Alejandro Garnacho keen on joining Chelsea this summer amid interest from other clubs

Manchester United attacker, Alejandro Garnacho is reportedly eager on joining Chelsea before the transfer widow closes amid interest from Al-Nassr, but the Argentina star wants to play in Europe and prefer a move to Stamford Bridge.

The the 21-year-old wants to leave Old Trafford, and has not travelled with the squad for their pre-season tour of the United States. It’s been a busy summer so far for Chelsea following their Club World Cup triumph in the United States.

Head coach Enzo Maresca has already seen Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, Dario Essugo and Willian Estevao all join the club, while defender Jorrel Hato, 19, is set to undergo a medical  today after a fee in excess of €40m was agreed with Ajax.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, Garnacho remains eager to join Chelsea, with the Blues still his preferred destination. The Argentine winger had prioritised a move to Stamford Bridge as far back as January and continues to favour the switch this summer.

The tweet reads:

“It was his priority in January and he’s still keen on the move this summer.

“Chelsea considering to bid later this month for Garnacho as said for weeks… and he’s waiting for Chelsea as priority despite bids from abroad”.

The World Champions have no concerns over Alejandro Garnacho character after they reportedly carried out series of background checks on the out-of-favour Manchester United winger ahead of making a move for his transfer.

Chelsea are expected to make an offer for the 21-year-old before the transfer window shuts, but may have to wait for Manchester United’s search for a new striker to come to an end with the Old Trafford club hoping to sign Benjamin Sesko.

Chelsea also need to make sales or loan players out to create space for more attackers, with Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja among those expected to leave permanently, with Marc Guiu and Tyrique George going on loans.

Chelsea have held talks over signing RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, but his arrival would not shut the door on a move for Alejandro Garnacho if the club can make room for both players.
