Super Eagles defender Ola Aina was on target as Nottingham Forest recorded an emphatic 3-0 victory over West Ham United in Saturday’s Premier League clash, Softfootball reports.

Aina ended his one-year wait for a goal after last scoring in Forest’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa in November 2023.

Chris Wood opened the scoring for Forest in the 27th minute before Callum Hudson-Odoi doubled the advantage in the 65th minute.

Aina sealed the impressive victory in the 78th minute with Forest’s third goal before he was substituted in the 89th minute. Fellow Nigerian Taiwo Awoniyi came on with 11 minutes remaining.

The convincing win lifted Nottingham Forest to third place in the Premier League table with 19 points.

Elsewhere, Wilfred Ndidi featured for Leicester City in their 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town.

Ndidi started the game and played 71 minutes before making way for Boubakary Soumaré.

The result leaves Leicester in 15th position with 10 points after 10 league matches.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s Premier League title ambitions suffered another setback as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

Alexander Isak’s first-half strike proved decisive as Newcastle secured all three points, condemning the Gunners to another costly defeat in the title race.
