Softfootball can confirm, Brentford F.C. head coach Keith Andrews has signed a new six-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2032. The extension was confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano via his official x handle and later detailed by the club.
Fabrizio posted:
Brentford head coach Keith Andrews has signed a new long term deal at the club until June 2032. Increased salary and longer deal after his excellent work so far.
The 45-year-old Irishman stepped up from his role as set-piece coach in June to replace Thomas Frank following the end of Frank’s seven-year tenure in west London, a period that included promotion to the Premier League.
Since taking charge, Andrews has exceeded expectations, guiding Brentford to seventh place in the table and into contention for a historic first-ever European qualification.

Reflecting on his appointment, Andrews admitted he understood initial scepticism.
Naturally, I think there would have been a slight concern if I were living in Dublin looking at Thomas Frank leaving and the set-piece coach taking over, I probably would have been a little bit worried too
he told the club’s official website.
I was always going to grasp the opportunity with both hands. I wanted to be very humble about it, work really, really hard, and prove to myself that I was capable of doing this job to the level it needed to be.
The contract renewal follows another key piece of long-term planning, with Igor Thiago having signed a new five-and-a-half-year deal earlier in February, keeping him at the club until 2031 with the option of a further year.
Director of football Phil Giles described Andrews as a “really good fit for the club” after what he labelled an “outstanding” first season. Giles revealed that although Andrews initially signed a three-year deal last summer, there had always been an intention to review the situation early.

Given our progress this season, I’m really happy that we have agreed this extension within the first nine months,” he said.
Brentford sit just five points behind Chelsea F.C. in fifth place and could surpass their Premier League record points tally of 59. They also face West Ham United F.C. in the FA Cup fifth round next month, while a league fixture against Burnley F.C. awaits this weekend.
Elsewhere, FC Barcelona have confirmed that Frenkie de Jong faces a spell of between five and six weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a muscular tear in training, adding to their growing list of injury concerns at a crucial stage of the season.
