Lennart Karl has officially signed a new contract with FC Bayern Munich valid until June 2029, effective from today as he turns 18.
According to comments shared by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, this agreement was always part of the club’s long-term plan.

Lennart Karl contract at FC Bayern will be valid until June 2029 starting from today, as he turned 18. This was always the plan as talks are already ongoing over new long term deal with increased salary next.
Discussions are already ongoing over a further extended deal that would include an increased salary, underlining Bayern’s belief in the teenager’s future leadership potential.
Karl’s rapid rise has made him one of the most talked-about young prospects in Germany.
Earlier in January, Softfootball reported that his agent, Michael Ballack, clarified remarks the midfielder made about Real Madrid CF being his childhood dream club.
The comments had unsettled sections of the Bayern fanbase, but Ballack emphasized that Karl remains fully committed to Bayern’s project.
Reports have also indicated that the new contract includes a specific clause allowing Real Madrid to trigger a €30 million release option during the 2027 summer transfer window a provision that adds further intrigue to his long-term future.
