Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is no longer a Chippa United player following a mutual agreement with the club. According to reports, Nwabali formally submitted a request to depart, which was subsequently granted.
The shot-stopper leaves Chippa United after making 76 appearances and recording 25 clean sheets, closing a notable chapter with the South African side. He is now a free agent, with Softfootball yet to confirm his next destination.
Nwabali recently enhanced his reputation on the international stage after creating history by saving Mohamed Salah’s penalty as Nigeria defeated Egypt in a shootout to secure the bronze medal at the just concluded AFCON 2025.
