Stanley Nwabali has returned to Chippa United after five months away, following his contract termination by mutual agreement in February 2026. Chippa United announced the development on Monday, 13 July 2026, welcoming the Super Eagles goalkeeper back to the club through an official statement on their Facebook page.

The club wrote:
“Chippa United Football Club is delighted to welcome Stanley Nwabali back to the Chilli Boys. After taking time away, Stanley Nwabali returns to the Eastern Cape, and we are pleased to welcome him back to the club.
His experience, leadership and presence will once again be a valuable addition to the squad as we continue preparations for the season ahead. Welcome back, Stanley. We wish you every success in Chippa United colours.”
Softfootball understands Nwabali left earlier this year after returning from AFCON 2025 in Morocco, where Nigeria won bronze by defeating Egypt on penalties.

His return comes shortly after former Super Eagles captain William Troost‑Ekong publicly backed him, expressing confidence that Nwabali would secure a new club before the end of the summer transfer window.
