Roberto De Zerbi has made his position very clear he is fully committed to Olympique Marseille and sees his future firmly tied to the club.

Speaking in comments shared by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his x handle , De Zerbi shut down any talk of an early exit and spoke with real confidence about the project in Marseille.

“I’m staying at OM. I am strong enough to stay at least five or six more years at Olympique Marseille. The players are with me.”

It was a powerful statement one that shows how much belief De Zerbi has in the squad, the club, and the direction they’re heading.

Softfootball reported That confidence looks well placed, especially after the instant impact of teenage talent Ethan Nwaneri. The Arsenal youngster only arrived in Marseille this week on loan from Arsenal, but De Zerbi wasted no time putting his faith in him.

Just 24 hours after landing in France, Nwaneri was handed a starting debut and he delivered immediately. The 16-year old scored after just 13 minutes in a 3–1 win over Lens, announcing himself to the Marseille crowd in style.

After the match, De Zerbi did not hide his excitement.

Ethan will become a top player, I’m sure about that.

Nwaneri had earlier explained that conversations about William Saliba’s successful development away from Arsenal, as well as De Zerbi’s reputation for improving young players, played a big role in his decision to join Marseille.

One game in, the move already looks like a perfect fit. For Nwaneri, it’s a chance to grow under a manager who believes in youth. For De Zerbi, it’s another sign that his long-term vision at Marseille is taking shape and that he’s building something he plans to see through for years to come.
