Softfootball understands that Atalanta are yet to reach a full agreement with Fenerbahçe over the transfer of Ademola Lookman, as negotiations remain stuck on one key issue: payment structure. While there is a verbal understanding around a €40 million total package, the final details are still unresolved.

Atalanta are yet to agree payment terms conditions offered by Fenerbahçe for Ademola Lookman. Verbal agreement on €40m package but not yet on payment terms/conditions. Atlético Madrid have been calling in last hours to ask for deal conditions.
Following a recent report about the uncertainty around Ademola Lookman’s future at Atlanta. The Turkish giants are pushing for a €5 million loan fee followed by a €35–37 million obligation to buy, potentially rising to €40–42 million with add-ons.
It’s a structure they prefer, but Atalanta are not convinced. The Serie A side would rather seal an outright permanent deal, with guaranteed money up front, rather than risk a delayed obligation.

The 28-year-old Nigerian international is keen on a fresh challenge, especially after tensions at Atalanta following a failed summer move to Inter Milan. His impressive AFCON showing, with three goals and four assists, including scoring the winning penalty to seal the bronze medal for the Super Eagles, has boosted his stock
However, Fenerbahçe are no longer alone. Atlético Madrid have re-entered the race in the final days of the January window. With Leon Goretzka staying put at Bayern Munich, Atlético have shifted focus to attacking reinforcements.
Talks with Atalanta have been reopened, and the Spanish side are watching closely, ready to pounce if Fenerbahçe hesitate.
With the window closing soon, time is tight. Atalanta are more open to selling. The next 48 hours could decide everything and maybe change Lookman’s career path for good.
