Chelsea picked a vital win at Selhurst Park in the Match-Day 23 of the Premier League as they thrashed 10-man Crystal Palace 3-1 on Sunday evening, Softfootball reports.
Chelsea are looking to bring in midfield reinforcements this January and the Blues are looking at signning Douglas Luiz on loan but never looked troubled against the Eagles in a game they totally dominated.

Chelsea beat Pafos 1-0 in a win that didn’t impress most of their fans but never showed any sign of weakness as they romped to an impressive win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park and celebrated it via their official X handle. They posted:
A big three points! 🙌

The Blues opened scoring after an error from Crystal Palace defender Jaydee Canvot. He played a loose pass inside the Chelsea half and Brazilian winger Estevao raced onto the ball just inside his own half and evaded Tyrick Mitchell before firing past Dean Henderson with a fine solo goal.
Chelsea double their lead as Estevao provided an assist for Joao Pedro down the right wing. The former Brighton forward ran unchallenged into the penalty area, cuts inside a challenge from Adam Wharton and blasts the ball into the net.

In the second half, it from bad to worst for Crystal Palace as Adam Wharton is shown a second yellow card in the space of five minutes and he is sent off for sliding into a late tackle on Moises Caiceo.
Crystal Palace were unfortunate to concede a penalty. The ball appeared to strike Jaydee Canvot’s arm from a close proximity by referee Darren England says its a handball after reviewing it with VAR. Dean Henderson hardly moved as Enzo Fernandez slotted his penalty into the bottom right corner to make it 3-0.

Estevao and Moises Caicedo were replaced by Jamie Gittens and Malo Gusto for Chelsea, while Palace have brought on Chadi Riad and Will Hughes. For the 22-year-old Morocco defender Riad, it was his first appearance in the Premier League since August 2024 after a serious injury.
Also, Chelsea Captain Reece James made way for Jorrel Hato. However, the home side got a consolation goal from Chris Richards as he headed past Robert Sanchez after Chelsea failed to clear a corner.
