Eddie Howe praised the spirit and drama of Newcastle United’s FA Cup victory over Bournemouth after an exhausting contest that finished 3-3 before the Magpies eventually found a way through, Softfootball reports.
Eddie Howe was full of praise for his players’ character and resilience after a draining FA Cup battle, highlighting the togetherness and fight shown by his side in a game that tested them both physically and mentally.

Speaking via the club’s official X handle, the Newcastle boss admitted it was a spectacle worthy of the competition. He said:
Yeah, I think it was a great game for the neutral because as an FA Cup tie when you see it at three-all and both teams going for the win. Both teams giving everything they can to get through. Good effort in the FA Cup. And I thought both teams did the competition a lot of good.
While delighted to progress, Howe was honest about the physical toll the game took on his side, especially with a daunting Premier League clash looming next.
Yes, without doubt. I think the extra time for us was a big negative. Although in that moment when you’re 2-1 down as we were, we needed the extra time. So delighted to get that opportunity at least. And counting the cost now really because you’ve got Tuesday night to think about. You’re playing Manchester City and I see they have won 10-1 and had a different afternoon to the one that we had. But all we can do is attack that game in positive fashion. After getting through today, we’re very pleased to be through and we need to recover the lads well. I think that’s key.

In other club news, Newcastle have also sanctioned a loan move for promising youngster Antonio Cordero, who has joined Cádiz in search of regular playing time as part of his development.
