After winning the Emerging Player Award at the previous Globe Soccer edition, Yamal’s rise has been rapid. This year’s Best Forward honor confirms his leap from prodigious talent to one of football’s most unpredictable and incisive attackers. He also finished as second runner-up in the 2025 Ballon d’Or, behind winner Ousmane Dembélé.

Yamal’s award places him among other notable winners at the ceremony, including Vitinha (Best Midfielder), Désiré Doué (Emerging Player), Jorge Mendes (Best Football Agent), and Andrés Iniesta, who received a Career Award.
