Softfootball recently reported Salah’s possible exclusion from the Inter Milan game, following his recent interview where he questioned his treatment at the club.
However, as reported by Fabrizio Romano via his official X account. Liverpool’s decision, jointly made by the club’s management and head coach Arne Slot, to place Mohamed Salah on a short break has sparked a wave of heated reactions across social media.

He posted:
Liverpool management and Arne Slot, together in deciding for Mo Salah to be out for short period after strong quotes. Liverpool approve Slot’s position on this case in order to mantain situation under control. Salah trained this morning and will do so after Inter game.
The strongest and most emotional reaction came from the X user who first pushed the story into a more personal conversation, shaping how many fans now view the situation. The user, Shifty (@UTDShifty), wasn’t just criticising the decision.
He warns Liverpool’s hierarchy that choosing to publicly back Slot over Salah could create a divide inside the club.
He suggested that such a move risks damaging trust among players and supporters.

He said:
I’m not gonna lie if Liverpool choose Slot over Salah they will lose the fans and the players support tbh.
Another X user, ጋ๏sєph Ibe (@DoubleJezzy), had a different motivation. He defends Slot and calls for discipline within the squad.
He wanted to remind fans that past success doesn’t give a player freedom to lash out when things go wrong. Supporting Slot’s authority, he argued that Salah’s short break is best for the collective.

He tweeted:
Salah taking a short break is the right move for the squad. Winning Liverpool the league last season doesn’t give him the right to act like a child when things aren’t going his way. He’s out of form, the whole team is struggling, yet the manager carries the biggest weight. Slot has every right to make whatever decisions that will steady the squad and push Liverpool back on track.
From a more sentimental angle, Madrid Extra (@MadrideXtral) reacted out of frustration, intending to highlight how poorly he feels club legends are treated once their form dips. After stressing that Salah deserved more respect for years of service.

He shared:
Mo Salah took them to their PL trophies and this is how they are treating him. A legend. Same way their fans did to Trent.
The user Crypt Hustler (@crypt_hustler) spoke from a place of disappointment, aiming his criticism at Slot’s coaching rather than Salah. His intention was to argue that the manager might be shifting blame.
He tweeted:
How do you even treat a Player like Salah in such manner? At this point I believe Slot is just using him as an excuse to cover his terrible performance as a Coach. Liverpool really missed Kloop and we’ve never seen a worse downgrade.
Finally, iKent (@Kendulite) aimed his reaction at defending Salah’s right to speak out. He intended to remind fans that Salah has earned respect through loyalty and consistent performances.

He said:
Salah has every right to say whatever he said, he doesn’t deserve to be scapegoated and singled out, he’s been a true servant of the club all these years.
Together, the reactions reveal a divided fanbase and a moment of real tension at Liverpool, as the club tries to manage both form and fallout around one of its biggest stars.
