Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed this on his official X handle, saying:

AC Milan director Tare on Mike Maignan deal due to expire in June 2026: “We will try to find a solution together”.

Maignan’s current contract ends in June 2026. He has had interests from other clubs like Chelsea but no agreement has been confirmed on a transfer. The club can testify that Maignan has been a very important part of their project. His quality on the field and leadership isn’t hard to decipher.

Maignan had made a significant contribution when he saved a penalty during the Serie A match against Inter Milan. That move ensured a victory for AC Milan.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri didn’t hide his excitement when he referred to Maignan as one of the strongest goalkeepers around.

Still noting his convincing performances, Softfootball highlighted his contribution in the AC Milan Vs AS Roma Serie A match which ended in a 1-0 win for AC Milan.

While the months to Maignan contract expiration counts, both the club and the goalkeeper would prefer to handle things calmly and professionally. Tare’s statement also shows the club’s willingness to reach a mutual agreement.
