Real Betis has extended the contract of key midfielder Isco until 2028, the club announced today, Softfootball reports.
Born, Francisco Román Alarcón Suárez but popularly known as Isco has been fantastic since joining Betis. The Spaniard was voted UEFA Europa Conference League Player of the Season for 2024/25 despite Real Betis losing in the final against Premier League side Chelsea.
Real Betis made the announcement of Isco’s new deal via their official X handle with a short statement. It read:

— Real Betis Balompié (@RealBetis_en) November 23, 2025Last season, Isco scored nine goals and had eight assists in 22 La Liga appearances and manager Manuel Pellegrini was counting on him for a great new season.
However, they were dealt a huge blow just before the start of the 2025/26 season when it was announced that Isco will be out of action for three months due to injury.
This afternoon just before kickoff against Girona, Isco was presented to the fans and a very large mural of the player was presented by fans. He took in the applauds and waved to the fans before going to seat on the bench.
