Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has made it clear that the club isn’t worried about Michael Olise’s future, not one bit. Speaking at an interactive session with the media, Freund said confidently, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano via his official X account. The Bayern chief went on to praise the French winger’s development since joining from Crystal Palace in July 2024
Christoph Said:
We’re not under any pressure. We can imagine him playing for Bayern for the next 7, 8, 9 years. Michael has a long-term contract, he proved himself and took steps forward
In reality, Olise has been nothing short of outstanding. In just 9 appearances this season across all competitions, he’s already managed 5 goals and 6 assists including an assist in the 4-nil thrashing of Werder Bremen before dropping a goal and two assists against Pafos in the Champions League. Not bad for someone still settling into life at the Allianz Arena.

In Bundesliga action, the 23-year-old has been a creative spark averaging 2.4 key passes per match, 81.4% pass accuracy and directly involved in 70% of Bayern’s attacking sequences down the right. He’s currently boasting a +10 goal difference impact, the best among all attackers in the division.
Olise’s deal runs through June 2029, though Softfootball understands Bayern are already cooking up a two-year extension to fend off growing interest from Premier League giants Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City, all keeping tabs.

Freund insists the young star feels perfectly at home. claiming the player feels extremely comfortable in the group and that he provides a good mix to the rest of the team.
Under Vincent Kompany, Bayern’s project looks built for the long haul and Olise is right in the centre of it. With comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne and a 30th-place Ballon d’Or finish this year, the Frenchman’s rise feels both explosive and steady.
One thing’s clear: Bayern don’t just see him as an important player for now; they also see him as the future and a leader in the making.
