Inter Miami are closing in on a surprise move for Sergio Reguilón, who’s currently a free agent after leaving Tottenham Hotspur in July. Talks are progressing quickly and, barring any late setbacks, the Spanish left-back is expected to agree terms with the MLS side, Softfootball reports.
Reguilón has had a number of offers on the table in recent weeks, but sources suggest he views Miami as the best fit. The opportunity to link up with an ambitious project in the United States and to play alongside several high profile names already in Florida looks to have convinced him.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported the news via his official X handle, confirming negotiations are well underway and that Reguilón is leaning towards Inter Miami despite multiple proposals from elsewhere.

Tata Martino would finally have dependable left-back cover if the deal goes through, something Inter Miami hasn’t had this season. Reguilón is more than just a new addition; he brings years of experience from England and Spain, as well as the ability to play both forward and defensively. This profile is ideal for Miami’s possession-heavy approach.
MLS fans have plenty to watch as the team navigates both on- and off-field challenges. Notably, Luis Suárez was recently handed a six-match suspension for spitting at a Seattle Sounders, a development Softfootball reported earlier.
MLS provides Reguilón with a new beginning. The transfer offers him the opportunity to start over and play a significant part in a developing league after a patchy stint in Europe.
It would be another declaration of intent for Miami, highlighting their desire to contend for championships and assemble a team with genuine depth. Although negotiations are still in progress, there is still hope.
