Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has heaped praises on midfield maestro pedri after seeing his team come from behind to beat Real Sociedad 2-1 on Sunday in La Liga.
Sofffootball believes that Pedri has been the most consistent player in the Barcelona squad in recent time. A couple of weeks ago, he earned plaudits from the likes of Paul Scholes for his performances, and yesterday, he helped the Blaugrana go top of the Spanish La Liga table.
After the game, the German tactician raved about Pedri, particularly his connection with Frenkie de Jong. He also noted that the former Las Palmas star was emerging as a leader in the squad. The Spaniard’s skill in tight spaces and his overall impact on the game is something that sets him apart as one of the top midfielders in the world today. His ability to create opportunities, even when the game is at its most intense, is a gift that few players possess.

According Fabrizio Romanao via his Facebook page, Flick, who is a big fan of Pedri, praised the 22-year-old Spanish international qualities noting the specific ways in which he helps the team achieve their ambitions after the win against Real Sociedad. The post reads:
Hansi Flick: Pedri is SPECIAL. He has become a leader. When he’s on the pitch, he’s everywhere. He’s very important for us.
Since Flick’s arrival, the midfielder has overcome the muscle injuries that hindered his progress in recent years. Additionally, with a role further from the box, he has become the playmaker of a team that has real possibilities to fight for all the titles.
Pedri’s magic in the midfield has brought him six trophies as a blaugrana, which includes: two league titles in 2023 and 2025, two Copas del Rey in 2021 and 2025 and two Spanish Super Cups in 2023 and 2025, cementing his place amongst the elite. His vision, passing and ability to retain possession have been key to Barça’s success in recent seasons.
Barcelona will once again look to the former Las Palmas star on Wednesday when they face Paris Saint-Germain, their toughest test of the season to date in one of the most highly anticipated clashes in the league phase of the Champions League.
