Under their new tactical approach by head coach Igor Tudor, the squad seems to be more coordinated and motivated, and the leadership of new captain Manuel Locatelli has been central to that.

The Italian midfielder has grown into the captain’s role, already showing alot of fighting spirit and composure the team will need to survive nights like this. Against a Dortmund side that has started the season strongly, Juventus know that focus, and intensity will be key if they are to get their ucl season off to a good start.

We’re arriving very pumped up, Saturday’s match left us with a lot of enthusiasm. We’re doing well, we’re confident and tomorrow we play in the most beautiful competition there is

«It’s important to start well and approach tomorrow in the best possible way in front of our fans. When we hear the Champions League anthem, it will be an emotion, it will be like the first time»

Our secret is compactness, we have the desire to work as a team. This is a particular competition, what must never be lacking is enthusiasm and the desire to be a team

I interpret what the coach tells me, he also asks me to go vertical quickly. I’m happy and we’re doing well, there’s still work to be done but there’s definitely a good foundation

The coach has talked a lot with us, this way of being of his has helped us a lot and has also united the group. It has been very important for us

I am the captain and I am proud to be it. I try to be an example for the others in every situation, on the field and off it

Dortmund, meanwhile, arrive in Turin unbeaten in four games this season, most recently breezing past 10 men Heidenheim 2-0 in the Bundesliga. They’ve also won three of their last four Champions League openers, so Juventus will be fully aware of the threat they pose. Dortmund will be without key players like former Juventus Midfielder Emre Can and Chelsea loanee Aaron Angeslimo

With the Allianz crowd behind them , the Bianconeri will hope to channel their fans support and team morale into a winning start against one of Europe’s most dangerous sides.
