Presnel Kimpembe has brought his long association with Paris Saint-Germain to an end, completing a permanent move to Qatar Sports Club. For PSG fans that love Presnel, this is just one of the situations within the club following the outburst between PSG and the French national team over the injuries sustained by Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué.
Softfootball understands that the 30-year-old defender joined PSG’s academy in 2005 at the age of 10 and went on to make 241 senior appearances, scoring three goals and captaining the side 31 times.
Over the course of two decades in Paris, Kimpembe collected an impressive haul of trophies, including eight Ligue 1 titles, seven French Cups, six French Super Cups and, most memorably, the 2025 UEFA Champions League.
PSG made an appreciation post for their former captain on their official X account. They posted:
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi hailed him as a model of professionalism and an ambassador for the club, adding that Kimpembe will always remain part of the PSG family.

Kimpembe’s departure follows a difficult period in his career. A ruptured Achilles tendon in February 2023 restricted him to just five appearances last season, and he was not named in Luis Enrique’s squad at the start of the current campaign.
The France international, capped 28 times and a World Cup winner in 2018, has not featured for Les Bleus since June 2022.
Kimpembe’s contract with Qatar SC runs for one year with an option for a further season. The Doha-based club currently sit second in the Qatari Stars League, and will hope his experience adds steel to their back line.
