Ben Chilwell has said an emotional goodbye to Chelsea fans after sealing a move to French side RC Strasbourg, marking the end of his Stamford Bridge playing time after four years. Softfootball reports

The left-back who joined Chelsea from Leicester City in 2020 rose to be a fan favourite, playing a huge role in the club’s 2021 Champions League win.

However, injuries meant his journey as a blue wasn’t smooth, but the player’s commitment to the team earned him support from fans who saw him through his time at the club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Via his X handle, the England international took time to pen a heartfelt message to the Chelsea faithful. Chilwell wrote:

Chelsea fans, firstly thank you! We won the Champions League together, made a bond like I’d never have imagined and I met brothers for life on and off the pitch here.

You helped me through the tough times, injuries, personal life, and gave me the best moments of my life.

I’ll never be able to thank you guys enough, looking forward to showing everyone my best — see you soon. Chilly.

For Chelsea supporters, the message will strike a chord ,a reminder of the highs of Porto, the camaraderie in the dressing room, and the loyalty shown during his difficult moments.

At 28, Chilwell now gets the chance to write a fresh story in France with Strasbourg, a club also under the BlueCo umbrella. Fans there will be excited to see what he brings on the pitch, while Chelsea fans will no doubt continue to follow his journey with fondness.
