Real Betis extended their short unbeaten start to the LaLiga season with a hard-fought 1-1 draw at RC Celta de Vigo at the Balaídos.
Softfootball reports that Marc Bartra gave the visitors a deserved lead just before half-time, powering home Giovani Lo Celso’s outswinging corner as Betis had enjoyed the better of a scrappy first period.

Cucho Hernández had earlier tested the hosts with a snapshot from distance, while Celta spurned chances of their own through Javi Rodríguez and Pablo Durán.
Celta struck back almost immediately after the break. Álvaro Valles, making his first competitive start in around 15 months, was absent-minded and failed to clear a corner, which Hugo Álvarez reacted fastest to, drilling a bouncing volley through the goalkeeper’s legs to level the score.

The goal ignited a new spirit in the home side, who grew more confident as the game went on, forcing Manuel Pellegrini into a triple change late on. The move by the gaffer was almost impactful as Substitute Ferran Jutglà went closest to a winner when an unmarked header was well saved by Valles, but neither side could find a decisive second.
The draw is a small boost for Betis, who have gone three league games unbeaten for the first time in three years and have lost only once in their last 10 top-flight outings (W4, D5).
Real Betis Manager Manuel Pellegrini and captain Marc Bartra gave their reaction in a video uploaded on Betis via their official X account.

Betis would also have wished they had Antony, whose moment of magic last season would have guaranteed all three points, and fans will be wishing the negotiation with Manchester United, who lost dramatically on penalties to Grimsby City in the EFL Cup, will be successful.
For Celta, it’s another frustrating day, solid possession and chances created, yet still no league victory to show after three matches. Betis will take the point and move on; Celta must turn their possession into goals if they are to climb the table.
