Having completed his move on loan from Southampton to Newcastle, Aaron Ramsdale has declared that it is a great honour to waer the black and white. Softfootball reported how Newcastle and Southampton exchanged batons in agreement o Ramsdale.
The English goalkeeper made his debut for the Magpies in a friendly game against Spanish side, Espanyol at the St. James Park. The game ended 2-2 and Ramsdale was instrumental as he made a penalty save during the game.

Newcastle United official X handle shared a video of Ramsdale’s penalty save. Watch below:
Newcastle have been struggling throughout this preseason period as they are yet to win any of the games. The team have had to play without a striker as Alexander Isak has requested to leave and Callum Wilson exited the club earlier in the summer.
Ramsdale who was the number 1 choice for the now relegated Southampton is going to be a second choice in Newcastle behind Nick Pope who has cemented his place. But a continuous quality showing might see the situation favour Ramsdale.
Ramsdale while speaking with the club’s media in a video posted on their verified X handle after the 2-2 draw against Espanyol was proud of himself.

Eddie Howe was impressed with the performance of the new goalkeeper and was full of praise for the players after the game. The tactician says:
The penalty was a big moment. The experienced players did so well because of the shortage of players, many had to play outside their position.
It puts us in a good shape physically as well.
Eddie Howe’s team will need a proper striker if they are to compete like they did last season which led them to winning the League Cup. The trophy was their first trophy win in 56 years.
