Albanian international, Armando Broja has left FIFA Club World Cup champions, Chelsea and signed a 5-year-deal with newly promoted Burnley.

Softfootball understands that the deal is worth £20 million and the 23-year-old will now link-up with the Clarets following Premier league experiences at Southampton, Fulham and Everton.

After the confirmation on Burnley’s official club media, Broja expressed his delight at moving to the club and promised to give his best.

He said:

“I am really excited to be here as a Burnley player.

“It’s a really positive time to be joining this club ahead of the start of the new Premier League season. I can’t wait to get going!”

“I’m feeling good, I’m ready and I’m excited about the challenge of playing for this club.

“I can already feel the support from the Burnley fans – I can tell you all that I will be giving my all every time I pull on the famous Claret shirt.”

This week, Burnley has signed three players with Premier League experiences including Borja. The others are Lesley Ugochukwu from Chelsea and Martin Dúbravka, from Newcastle United.

Earlier in the summer, Scott Parker’s side signed Manchester City captain, Kyle Walker and would be hoping that all the premier league experienced players brought in would help them avoid relegation back into the Championship.

Broja joined Chelsea in 2020 after signing his first contract in professional football. He was sent on loan to Dutch side, Vitesse where he scored 10 league goals in 30 appearances.

On his return to Stamford Bridge he was sent on another loan to Southampton to gain Premier League experience, where he played 32 Premier League matches, scoring six goals. His goals made him the first Albanian player to score in the Premier League.

Broja then spent short loan spells with Fulham and Everton before his latest big move to Burnley.

Borja has been plagued by injuries for most of his career but would hope that he stays fit to lead the attack for Burnley in the 2025/26 season.

Burnley will begin their Premier League campaign against Tottenham Hotspur on August 16.
