“We’re all in to win everything,” Valverde declares as Real Madrid begins new season

Real Madrid player Fede Valverde has declared that the Spanish giants are up to taking their authority in the coming season.

The Uruguayan midfielder spoke to Real Madrid TV after training that was captured by Softfootball on Thursday, where he reflected on his return to the group and the early signs from a pre-season that’s already building rhythm and intent.

Valverde told Real Madrid TV this:

“I’m happy, as always.

“Proud to be back for another season, to wear this shirt and defend this crest. The desire is the same: to win everything.”

Madrid experienced a tumultuous football year last season, where they went trophyless, but Valverde believes such an experience won’t happen in the coming season.

He continued:

“You can tell everyone’s been working during the holidays. That commitment helps us avoid injuries and sharpens us before the real business begins. We’re all excited to be training again. We want to be fighting for every title.”

The early weeks of pre-season have seen the squad focus on structure, connection and identity, especially important after a summer of change.

Speaking about Madrid’s preseason, Valverde said:

“There’s been a big tactical focus lots of pressing drills, staying compact, and building chemistry.

“We’re still getting to know each other, especially with the new arrivals. That’s normal. The key is building those bonds both when we attack and when we defend.”

And as one of the team’s new captains, the moment is not lost on him. He added:

“Wearing this armband is a dream that every football-loving kid grows up with. I get to live it now, with my family beside me, and I try to enjoy every moment. Sometimes it’s hard to believe I’m one of the captains of this club, but I know how lucky I am.”

Recall that Real Madrid’s dream of solidifying their squad by signing Spaniard Rodri has been cut off after the midfielder extended his stay with English club Manchester City. Softfootball earlier reported that Rodri was offered a new contract to keep him at the Etihad till June 2029.

Whereas the 29-year-old’s current deal at the Etihad Stadium runs until the summer of 2027, but Manchester City are keen to avoid entering the final two years of that agreement without clarity over the long-term future of one of their most valuable assets.

Real Madrid will be playing next week against Austrian club WSG Tirol, their first game since their last June’s defeat to PSG at the Club World Cup in America.
