Scott Parker has agreed to have Martin Dubravka as his new Claret goalkeeper for next season. Softfootball reported how James Trafford returned to his childhood club, Manchester City this summer.
The Clarets were rattled by Trafford’s sudden exit after helping them gain automatic promotion to the Premier League last term. Burnley are facing hard times keeping their Championship squad with captain Josh Brownhill also leaving this summer.
Hence they need some players who have got Premier League experience to help their chances of survival in the topflight this coming season. They have got an experienced legs in Kyle Walker who joined from Manchester City for just £5m.

They will now add another experience player to the squad in Martin Dubravka who is with Newcastle at the moment. However, the goalkeeper will become a new Burnley player as he has given greenlight to join the club.
Dubravka had become unsettle when Newcastle had brought in on loan and to buy compulsorily, Aaron Ramsdale from Southampton. The Slovakian had been a second choice in the Magpies’ squad behind Nick Pope who was bought from Burnley.
Dubravka now has an opportunity to show again his goalkeeping qualities. The 36 year old had been at Newcastle since 2018 playing a total of 174 matches. He also spent time at Old Trafford with Manchester United on loan during the 22/23 season.
Confirming Dubravka’s move, top journalist Florian Plettenberg says Newcastle and Burnley have agreed on the goalkeeper. He wrote on his verified X handle:
“Full agreement between Burnley and Newcastle United on a deal for Martin Dubravka”
The former Sparta Prague goalkeeper will walk straight into the starting berth of Parker next season and will be saddled with a huge responsibility of ensuring Burnley’s defense do not leak goals.
Newcastle are not enjoying the best of summers at the moment as their target man, Alex Isak might be on his way out of the team following interest from Liverpool. The Magpies have also lost Callum Wilson who left on a free.
For Burnley, it is a mixture of youngsters and experience and Scott Parker will have to saddle the ship from sinking.
