Real Madrid forward Carlos Espí has received his first senior Spain call-up after Luis de la Fuente named him as the replacement for Ferran Torres, who has left the national team camp due to persistent discomfort in his left ankle.
The development comes after Real Madrid Complete Carlos Espí Signing and Open Rodri Talks, with the 21-year-old striker now enjoying a rapid rise since joining the Spanish giants from Levante during the summer.

The Spanish Football Federation confirmed that Torres had been carrying the ankle problem throughout the international break. Although the injury initially did not prevent him from training or playing, the continued symptoms led Spain and Paris Saint-Germain’s medical teams to agree that he should leave the camp and focus on his recovery.
Espí has been rewarded for his impressive recent form. The Real Madrid striker was with Spain Under-21s during the international break and scored five goals in their 13-0 victory over San Marino in a European Championship qualifying match.
Softfootball understands that Espí will now join the senior squad ahead of Spain’s remaining Nations League fixtures against the Czech Republic and Croatia. The call-up gives him an opportunity to make his senior international debut just months after arriving at Real Madrid.
Espí joined Real Madrid from Levante on a five-year contract running until June 2031. The forward has already made an impression at club level and has become part of José Mourinho’s first-team squad.
His promotion represents another major step in what has been a remarkable few days for the young striker, who now has the chance to compete for a place in Spain’s senior team.
