On Friday 25th September 2026, the Super Falcons veteran defender Osinachi Ohale has announced her retirement from international football after an illustrious 16-year career representing Nigeria.
The 34-year-old defender confirmed her decision in an emotional statement shared on Instagram, bringing an end to a remarkable journey that saw her represent the Super Falcons on some of the biggest stages in women’s football.
Ohale made 86 international appearances for Nigeria, featuring at four FIFA Women’s World Cups and seven Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournaments. She also won five African titles with the Super Falcons.

After 16 years of wearing the Nigerian jersey, representing my country, and giving everything I had to the beautiful game, I have made the very difficult decision to retire from international football.
