Juventus have agreed a deal to bring Brazilian goalkeeper Neto back to Turin on a short-term contract, with the experienced shot-stopper returning to provide cover following Kamil Grabara’s serious knee injury.
Softfootball reports that Neto, 37, has agreed to join Juventus as a free agent on a one-year contract, with the final formalities and medical checks now being arranged. The Brazilian previously played for the Bianconeri between 2015 and 2017, making his return to the club an experienced solution for Luciano Spalletti’s squad.
Grabara suffered the injury during training on September 19, with Juventus confirming that tests revealed a tear to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The goalkeeper subsequently underwent successful surgery to reconstruct the ligament.
Neto’s arrival will therefore give Juventus additional depth behind Guglielmo Vicario as the club competes across Serie A, the Europa League and the Coppa Italia.
Meanwhile, Juventus have already seen one of their new attacking additions make an impact. Nick Woltemade scored his first goal for the club during the 5-0 Europa League victory over NEC Nijmegen on September 17.
The German forward converted a 35th-minute penalty after Nico Gonzalez earned the spot-kick and handed Woltemade the ball, allowing him to open his Juventus account.
