Softfootball confirm Mykhailo Mudryk made his long-awaited return to action for Chelsea on Wednesday, featuring in the club’s 1-0 pre-season defeat to Juventus in Hong Kong after serving a 20-month doping suspension.
The Ukraine international was introduced in the 82nd minute at the Kai Tak Stadium, replacing Nicolas Jackson to mark his first appearance since November 2024.
Mudryk had not played competitive football after being provisionally suspended following an adverse finding for a banned substance by the Football Association. He was formally charged and subsequently handed a suspension before successfully resolving the case, paving the way for his return to action.
Mudryk joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 and registered 10 goals in 73 appearances before his suspension. He remains under contract with the Blues until 2031.
Chelsea will continue their pre-season tour on Saturday when they face AC Milan in Jakarta, where Mudryk could be in line for more minutes as he continues his return to full match fitness.
